About the OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior trading analyst to contribute to our trading division. You will be responsible for solving complex problems, identifying market leading solutions and driving commercial opportunities.
You'll work at the intersection of markets, technology and energy assets, designing and refining algorithms and applications that power automated energy trading.
As part of our trading algorithm development team, you will explore, develop and refine algorithmic trading strategies and signals that support the dispatch of energy assets.
Key responsibilities include assessing business needs, analysing and implementing trading algorithms, identifying opportunities and tracking performance.
A strong grasp of the NEM, gas markets and AGL's position in these markets is essential, as well as maintaining compliance with the National Electricity Rules/National Gas Rules.
About YouYou are a curious and proactive individual with a desire to deeply understand physical markets energy trading. As a technical innovator and problem solver, you enjoy developing business logic and algorithms from inception through to production.
Our ideal candidate has 3+ years' experience within an energy trading company, high proficiency in Python and a tertiary qualification in a quantitative discipline. Familiarity with the NEM or equivalent market is also required.
