
Care Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a casual support worker with initiative and enthusiasm to support those in the community. This role may involve working across several programs, with duties varying but predominantly focused on supporting our out of home care team through supervised family visits.
This position can be based at one of our offices in New England northwest, including Moree, Narrabri, Tamworth, Armidale or Inverell.
Key Responsibilities- Providing supervised visits for children in foster care with their family.
- Transporting children in care to appointments or visits.
- Mentoring children in foster care.
- Establishing positive relationships with clients, staff and other organisations.
- Promoting services in a positive manner.
- Assessing client safety, planning and intervening where appropriate.
- Reporting observations, risks, interactions and dynamics.
- Tertiary education in social work, psychology/community services/mental health or equivalent experience.
- Valid NSW drivers licence.
- Knowledge of mental health issues.
- Skills in establishing rapport and respectfully communicating expectations.
- Experience relating to and building rapport with people.
- Knowledge of child protection system.
- Excellent observation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Working with children's check.
- First aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
