CSIRO is committed to fostering the careers of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander postgraduate students in STEM fields.
We encourage and support our Indigenous staff and students to participate in cultural events, celebrations, and activities.
Our monthly forum offers a platform for the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to contribute to CSIRO's directions.
As an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander postgraduate student at CSIRO, you will have access to a range of world-class facilities across Australia.
You will be supported to create and develop a dynamic career that best fits your aspirations.
Achieving your goals requires more than just qualifications – it demands a deep understanding of the field and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
The scholarships are open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people with Australian Citizenship.
Successful candidates will be required to provide evidence confirming their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
Flexible working arrangements are available to accommodate the diverse needs of our employees.
- Types of Research Collaborations Available
- CSIRO Sponsored Research Collaborations: CSIRO partners with universities to co-fund collaborative projects.
- CSIRO-University Co-funded Research Collaborations: CSIRO and a university collaborate on research projects, sharing funding and expertise.
- CSIRO Supervised-only Research Collaborations: CSIRO provides research support and access to facilities for students working on PhD or Master theses.
- Other Research Opportunities Available
- Industry PhD (iPhD) Research Collaborations: Students work on PhD projects identified with and supervised by industry partners.
- CSIRO Postgraduate Internships: University-approved internships where CSIRO supervises postgraduate students working on short-term CSIRO-defined projects for work experience as part of their degree.
