About the Role

The Procurement Specialist for Art and Craft Supplies will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business. This position is responsible for managing all purchasing requirements, with a focus on international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase stock according to sales and lead times to meet customer demands
  • Create purchase orders for international suppliers to ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain and improve supplier performance by evaluating cost and lead time efficiency
  • Collaborate with the inventory manager to analyze stock levels and optimize inventory management
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process
  • Coordinate shipping, customs, freight, and delivery of purchase orders to ensure seamless logistics
  • Liaise with the finance team to evaluate and implement cost-saving initiatives while achieving optimal stock levels
  • Ensure strong proficiency in Excel for accuracy and efficiency in data analysis

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement
  • Degree in finance, business, or accounting preferred (but not essential depending on experience)
  • Similar experience in a wholesale/importing business is preferred but not required
  • Supply chain and strategic sourcing knowledge is essential for this role
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office are necessary for success
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills are required for effective collaboration
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are necessary for meeting deadlines
  • Strong work ethic - working independently and within a team is expected
