Senior Tooling Calibration Specialist for SSN AUKUS Program

About the Opportunity

The Senior Tooling Calibration Officer will lead the calibration of tooling required for building the SSN AUKUS at the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) in South Australia. This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate records of calibration activities and performance specifications for tooling and review calibration schedules, training plans, and reports.
  • Build and maintain technical registers and databases.
  • Execute all compliance and certification processes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Identify and provide technical input associated with the calibration of equipment in accordance with standards and best practice.
  • Identify issues, solve problems, and complete tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Define calibration certificates for compliance to standards and specifications.
  • Integrate security, safety, and ICT requirements into calibration processes and documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Operational lead for procurement activities for setting up and maintaining calibration contracts.
About You
  • You have an Advanced Diploma or Trade Certificate in a relevant discipline; or relevant calibration/maintenance experience.
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of calibration standards, systems & processes.
  • You possess strong interpersonal and relationship building skills coupled with professional and constructive engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have demonstrated experience working with a team of technical personnel in complex and industrial environments.
  • You are effective in time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • You have proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities, coupled with leadership and management skills.
  • You have proven decision-making ability across multidisciplinary teams.
  • You possess accurate and effective reporting and documentation processes.
Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per annumAbout ASC
