Commercial Lawyer Opportunity

Job Description:

We are seeking a commercially astute lawyer to join our Australian team. As a key member of the legal function, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's commercial success and improving healthcare outcomes across Australia.

This role offers an opportunity to move beyond traditional billable hour models and make a tangible impact in the health technology sector.

You will be based in either Adelaide or Melbourne and have the autonomy to manage the Australian legal landscape while being part of a supportive global legal function.

Responsibilities:
  • Drafting, Reviewing, and Negotiating Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate complex SaaS contracts and software licensing arrangements that support business growth and improve customer outcomes.
  • Providing Strategic Legal Guidance: Offer strategic legal advice that directly shapes commercial success and improves healthcare outcomes across Australia.
  • Acting as a Trusted Advisor: Serve as a trusted advisor to all parts of the business, translating complex legal issues into clear, practical advice that supports informed decision-making.
  • Managing Risk Proactively: Identify and mitigate potential legal and regulatory risks that may impact the business.
  • Supporting Strategic Growth: Support strategic growth through due diligence and other legal aspects of commercial transactions that drive business expansion.
  • Refining Legal Processes: Refine legal processes, policies, and templates to build a best-in-class legal function that is agile and fit for purpose.
Qualifications:
  • Australian-qualified Lawyer: Hold a current practising certificate as an Australian-qualified lawyer.
  • Corporate and Commercial Law Experience: Have solid experience in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on pragmatic, business-focused advice.
  • Skilled Negotiator and Communicator: Possess strong negotiation and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with commercial teams and translation of complex legal issues into clear guidance.
  • Highly Organised and Adaptable: Be highly organised, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
