Job Title

A Principal Power Systems Engineer is required to join our team. The role involves delivering high-quality power system studies for renewable energy, traditional energy, and industrial power systems projects across the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and delivering power system studies, developing solutions for complex power systems and network connection issues, and overseeing project management tasks.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and deliver high-quality power system studies for renewable energy, traditional energy, and industrial power systems projects across the region.
  • Develop solutions for complex power systems and network connection issues.
  • Oversee project management tasks, ensuring that all projects meet internal and external standards, industry regulations, and are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify potential extensions and growth opportunities for ongoing and future projects.
  • Build and strengthen relationships, both internally and with clients, expanding our business network and identifying new business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's or higher degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and deliver to tight timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an organised and adaptable approach.
  • Proficiency in data management, reporting, and an aptitude for power systems modelling tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD), ideally with a background in utility power systems planning or operations.
  • Experience managing technical quality, timelines, and budget for large-scale projects. Stakeholder management experience, with a track record of successful negotiations to ensure project success.
  • Publication experience in Electrical Engineering journals or conferences is a plus.
