Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to deliver high-quality electrical work on time, in full, and to the required standard. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring safety for yourself and your colleagues, maintaining a clean, tidy, and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, Maintain, and Repair Electrical Systems: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components on commercial and defence vessels, including lighting, navigation, propulsion, and communication systems.
  • Interpret Technical Drawings: Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate and efficient electrical installations.
  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and fault-finding on electrical equipment, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
  • Power Distribution and Control: Install and connect power distribution boards, control panels, and circuit protection devices, ensuring proper configuration and functionality.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, mechanical, and shipbuilding teams to support integrated system installations and commissioning activities.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Hold a valid 'A' Grade Electrical License with Mechanic Endorsement (or Fitter where permitted).
  • High-Risk Work: Capable of performing confined space and working at heights.
  • Safety and Efficiency: Demonstrate adequate theoretical knowledge and ability to use standard tools and equipment related to the trade.
  • Time Management: Good time management skills and the ability to meet targets.
  • Certifications: First Aid and EWP certifications.
  • Experience: Previous experience in Defence, Government, Marine/Ship Repair, or Heavy Industry.
