Occupational Therapist Opportunity

Catholic Healthcare is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality care to our clients in their homes and communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive OT assessments for clients with multiple and complex needs.
  • Provide specific OT services and programs, including home assessments and advice on activities of daily living with recommendations involving home modifications, equipment prescription, care planning, and education.
  • Facilitate and assist in development of community-based Health and Wellness programs and groups.
  • Involve clients and carers in developing care plans that are person-centered and reablement-focused.
  • Provide support, education, and direction to community workers and staff to assist them in best supporting our clients.
  • Submit individual applications for home modifications and equipment in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider allied health team, including nurses, physiotherapists, fitness instructors, and allied health assistants.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy with postgraduate experience.
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Commitment and enthusiastic approach towards working with clients, families, carers, and advocates.
  • Experience in equipment prescription, pressure care, home modifications, and falls prevention for older adults.
  • Industry knowledge of local and international wellness and reablement models of care.
  • Experience working in a community setting and demonstrated knowledge of the aged and disability service system in the community health sector - desirable but not essential.
  • Current Driver's License and registered and insured motor vehicle.
