About This Role
The Prisoner Triage Clinical Nurse Consultant provides advanced clinical practice and registered nursing leadership.
Expert knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for clinical care and guiding clinical practice across prison health centres to support patient-centred triage and pathways.
This position supports the Nurse Unit Manager in meeting strategic and operational objectives of patient-centred care within a Correctional Centre and an inter-professional team framework.
About You
We seek a candidate who can demonstrate:
- Expert level knowledge, clinical nursing skills, expertise, and experience in primary health care and correctional health clinical practice related to assessment, treatment, and care.
- The ability to provide specialist clinical advice and communicate with stakeholders engaged in service delivery to patients.
- Leadership skills, including developing, implementing, and evaluating health support information programs and resources for staff involved in patient care.
- Clinical supervision and mentoring to ensure maintenance of professional clinical standards and quality of primary health care for consumers.
- Development and implementation of primary health clinical practices, tools, protocols, and guidelines to ensure optimum standards of primary health care and outcomes for patients within Correctional Centres.
Mandatory Requirements
Vaccination against certain diseases is mandatory.
A Queensland Corrective Services check will be undertaken on persons recommended for employment.
