As a senior accounting professional, you will be responsible for driving the implementation of robust financial strategies. This role requires strong technical understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), IFRS, and their application to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Managed Investment Schemes.
- Lead and mentor a team of property and fund accountants to achieve strategic objectives.
- Prepare detailed monthly management accounts and provide comprehensive commentary on portfolio performance.
- Oversee technical accounting matters, including consolidations, acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Manage Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure tax regulations are met.
- Develop accounting policies related to property and trust accounting, ensuring they are robust and adaptable.
- Review and refine the financial structures of new joint ventures and special purpose vehicles (SPVs).
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance with CPA or CA accreditation.
- 10+ years of experience in technical accounting, preferably at a senior level in commercial real estate or funds management.
- Strong technical knowledge of AASB, IFRS, and their application to REITs and Managed Investment Schemes.
- Proven ability to write and present technical papers, and liaise with auditors on complex accounting matters.
