Job Title: Associate Director - Assurance and Advisory

At KPMG, we are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Climate Change and Sustainability services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading our assurance services and supporting business development.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a broad range of industries and for some of Australia's largest and most sustainable companies. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge in leading assurance and some advisory projects, build trusted networks with our prestigious clients, and grow your personal knowledge in this dynamic and exciting field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead our assurance services, including planning, risk assessments, designing the assurance approach and procedures, testing and analysis, review and reporting.
  • Support business development, including identifying new business opportunities and developing relationships with clients.
  • Apply your technical knowledge in leading assurance and some advisory projects, including ESG processes and data measurement, benchmarking organisational performance, and conducting technical and high-quality analysis.
  • Build trusted networks with our prestigious clients and develop meaningful relationships to aid in business development.
  • Mentor and train junior team members and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge and experience of international sustainability frameworks and guidelines and standards, including the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Knowledge of and practical ability to apply International and/or Australian Auditing Standards (ISAE and ASAE).
  • Ability to conduct technical and high-quality analysis of ESG processes and data measurement, including benchmarking organisational performance.
  • Strong assurance knowledge and experience, including planning, risk assessments, designing the assurance approach and procedures, testing and analysis, review and reporting.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, particularly when communicating on an engagement to a wide range of stakeholders from C-Level and senior management to project managers.
  • A strong passion for sustainability and ESG issues.
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully working as part of a team, including the ability to mentor and train junior team members.
