Data Centre Facilities Engineer

The FOC is a critical position within our Data Centre Global Engineering Operations organisation. It involves 24x7 monitoring of the data centre's physical infrastructure and facilitating Large Scale Events (LSEs) and Critical Site Events (CSEs).
This role serves as a central monitoring location for the facility electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring an optimal customer experience through consistency, reliability, and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of data centre IT infrastructure and data centre facilities infrastructure and how they co-exist.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the data centre Amazon facilities infrastructure platform
- Serving as a point of contact for internal and external teams
- Assisting with the development of communication and escalation protocols to improve team performance
- Contribution to outage post mortem analysis
- Ensuring records are updated in a timely manner
- Assistance with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts
- Development of tools to enhance team performance
- Supporting a 24x7 environment (shift work may include weekends and holidays)
To be successful in this role, you should have 2+ years of Electrical or Mechanical Experience, 1+ years of experience with Building and/or Electrical Platform Management Systems, and 2+ years' experience in Data Centre Engineering/Operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years in a large-scale data centre and 3+ years in a NOC or similar
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection, documentation, and root cause analysis
