About the Role

Thiess is seeking skilled professionals to join their team as Diesel Fitters for various NSW sites, including the Muswellbrook Coal Mine Rehabilitation Project, Mt Arthur South, Mt Pleasant, and Mt Thorley Workshop.

As a Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for performing servicing, repair, and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment, including CAT Trucks and Dozers, Graders, and other ancillary equipment. Your tasks will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Completing general maintenance, breakdowns, services, and component changeouts to a high standard
  • Source technical information from relevant reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM, and computer-based systems
  • Ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
  • Conducting required inspections to maximize equipment utilization

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter
  • Post-trade experience working in the Mining or Heavy Earth Moving industry
  • Ability to obtain relevant Certificate of Proficiency issued by Training NSW
  • Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component changeouts, and servicing of Heavy Earthmoving equipment
  • Demonstrated experience with Liebherr and CAT large earthmoving equipment is preferred
