A Primary Care Professional is a medical expert who provides essential healthcare services to individuals. They are responsible for delivering high-quality medical care, diagnosing and treating health issues, and offering preventative measures.

Main Responsibilities
  • To deliver primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence policies and procedures.
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team, contribute towards achieving the shared goal of maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
  • To assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide care that supports their health and wellbeing before and after deployments.
  • Provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager, and Commanders of units.
