About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operator to join our team at Bulwer Island, Pinkenba. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of our equipment, including ball mills, slag drier, dispatch, and wharf operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities, including PMR inspections, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment repairs
  • Operate and maintain site equipment, including ship unloader and loader, ball mills, and auxiliary equipment
  • Supervise production and maintenance contractors, including issuing Permits for Work and reviewing Risk Assessments
  • Use SAP to raise notifications and work orders for planned and unplanned maintenance works
  • Assist with shutdown and general maintenance planning
  • Raise purchase requisitions for equipment repairs and parts required for repair
  • QC testing of all products produced on site to ensure quality targets are met
About You
  • Previous heavy industry experience
  • Trade qualified (Mechanical or Electrical) - advantageous
  • EWP Licence
  • Confined Space, Working at Heights tickets
  • LVR Training (advantageous)
  • Prior knowledge and/or exposure to operating or troubleshooting SCADA systems
  • Bobcat and Loader experience (advantageous)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive approach towards continuous improvement and upgrades
  • Fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with the use of small hand and power tools
