We're seeking a dedicated Family Safety Advocate to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Family Safety Advocate will provide critical support and advocacy services to women and children experiencing or at risk of family and domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and respond to safety issues related to family and domestic violence
  • Undertake risk assessments and develop safety plans to ensure the well-being of clients
  • Provide specialist assessment, support, and information to individuals experiencing or at risk of family and domestic violence
  • Advocate for clients' rights and interests based on their defined goals
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance client safety and well-being
  • Collaborate with settlement services staff to provide comprehensive support and guidance

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in human services or significant experience in the family and domestic violence sector
  • Unrestricted driver's license
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance
  • Current Working with Children Check card
  • Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in settlement services or with culturally diverse target groups
