This job posting is for an Emergency Services Officer role located in Perth. The position is a full-time opportunity with a permanent roster of 8 days on, 6 days off.

The Emergency Services Officer will be responsible for facilitating injury management, including liaising with health professionals, supporting injured workers, and administering Return to Work Plans. Additionally, they will support injury incident investigations and reporting, assist the Site Registered Nurse with biological monitoring and wellness assessments, and provide leadership to the Emergency Response Team (ERT). They will also develop, review, and maintain emergency response procedures and systems, conduct inspections and stocktakes of Mines Rescue equipment, ensure training complies with legislation and company policies, and develop, review, and facilitate risk assessments and rescue plans for confined spaces.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate injury management, including liaising with health professionals and supporting injured workers
  • Support injury incident investigations and reporting
  • Assist the Site Registered Nurse with biological monitoring and wellness assessments
  • Provide leadership to the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
  • Develop, review, and maintain emergency response procedures and systems
  • Conduct inspections and stocktakes of Mines Rescue equipment

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar underground mining role
  • RII30709 - Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Nationally Accredited Drug and Alcohol Testing training
  • Proven leadership in an Emergency Response Team
  • Experience in Mine Rescue, Emergency Response, and site Medic responsibilities
  • Ability to develop and deliver emergency response training
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Strong communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail

Location and Benefits

Employees travel to site via weekly charter flights or commercial flights to Leonora airport, from where they are transferred to the Jaguar Village approximately 40 minutes away. The village offers accommodation with all amenities, including meals, sports courts, a pool, wireless internet, and mobile coverage.
