About the Position:
WorkPac is currently seeking a highly skilled Principal Dam Engineer to join our esteemed client's team based in the Northern Territory.
This position involves working on a major closure project with global industry standards, ensuring the tailings facility closure meets all regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Engineers of Record, Designers, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and implement improvements in dam safety and closure design, adhering to industry best practices.
- Monitor and inspect tailings facilities to ensure performance and integrity, identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage change control and maintain detailed documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and report to executives, providing regular project updates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mining Engineering (Master's or professional registration preferred).
- 12-15 years' experience in a senior engineering role with expertise in tailings facilities.
- Deep understanding of GISTM and relevant national/international guidelines.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and relevant software tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
