Claims Analyst Role

We are seeking a skilled Claims Analyst to join our team.

The role involves managing a portfolio of liability claims, analysing first reports, conducting investigations and establishing accurate reserves.

  • Managing a portfolio of liability claims in accordance with industry best practices
  • Analysing first reports to determine the nature of loss, coverage provided and scope of injury/damage
  • Conducting thorough investigations into all aspects of reported claims, including potential fraud and verifying accuracy, relationship and completeness
  • Establishing timely and accurate reserves
  • Providing exceptional service standards in line with industry best practices
  • Maintaining an active diary to achieve timely development of the file and timely disposition of the claim
  • Promptly documenting all developments on the claim file
  • Exercising good judgment in reaching final claim disposition by evaluating nature of loss, liability, injury/damage, coverage provided and applicable limits
  • Negotiating compromise settlements where appropriate
  • Effectively communicating with various stakeholders, including claim departments, customer services, loss control, underwriting departments, finance departments, brokers, insureds, service providers, third parties and their legal representatives
  • Recognising and pursuing subrogation where applicable
  • Adhering to relevant statutory rules and regulations as well as internal compliance obligations

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary or insurance industry qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of liability claims experience
  • Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Workflow management skills
  • A strong customer service focus
  • Proven teamwork abilities
