Key Opportunities

CORE Markets supports businesses on the path to net zero by providing commercial and capital advisory services focused on the energy transition.

Our team uses a proprietary software platform to deliver these services. We are seeking a full-time senior consultant with expertise in Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM).

As a senior consultant, you will lead or be a member of a 3-4 person team responsible for:

  • Providing advice on project commercialisation to renewables and storage developers, including optimal spot and contracted mix, pros and cons of alternative offtake structures, and interaction between offtake, project configuration, and project debt financing.
  • Providing advice to large energy users on their power procurement needs, including the pros & cons of retail vs. wholesale offtake.
  • Running competitive processes to buy or sell offtake linked to renewables and/or storage projects.

You will also provide power sector expertise into other projects and teams as required, focus on project delivery and execution, and support business development as needed.

**Required Qualifications**

  • 4-6 years' relevant experience in Australia's NEM, working with and for renewable and BESS project developers on project commercialisation.
  • Experience in Australia's Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) is desired but not essential.
  • Strong project delivery and project management skills, strong quantitative skills, and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
