About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer to join our team at UGL, working on the Selfs Point Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade project in Hobart, Tasmania.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in design, construction, and commissioning of Brownfields and Greenfields projects, with a strong background in civil engineering and water infrastructure.

The role will involve liaising with subcontractors, ensuring job construction meets technical, quality, and customer requirements, and providing engineering advice to associated civil/structural subcontractors and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, including negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to establish effective working relationships with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure job construction meets technical, quality, and customer requirements
  • Ensure survey of installations is conducted professionally, with results reviewed and accepted as correct
  • Liaise with Construction Manager to ensure job is on schedule
  • Provide engineering advice to subcontractors/suppliers
  • Assist Project Manager in preparation of monthly reports
Requirements
  • Civil Engineering Qualification
  • Significant engineering experience in design, construction, and commissioning of Brownfields and Greenfields projects
  • Strong communication skills, including negotiation and influencing skills
