About the Role

The Senior Project Engineer is a key member of the Tas Water Capital Delivery Office team, responsible for providing engineering and coordination for the design, supply, installation, and testing of Tas Water Capital Delivery Office projects.

The primary challenge of this position is to ensure that projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet contractual arrangements made with the client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager with compliance to the documentation required under the CDO/UGL Management System
  • Review and plan projects with the Team Lead/Project Engineer to ensure technical aspects of the job are clear and to become familiar with contractual arrangements made with the client
  • Liaise with Project Engineer/Project Supervisor to ensure the job is on schedule
  • Provide a focal point for all technical-based queries for associated subcontractors/suppliers
  • Develop scope of works required for RFT (Request for Tender) and RFQ (Request for Quote) documentation, ensuring documents include all necessary technical specifications and references
  • Prepare and manage procurement packages, including design, supply, and installation lump sum and schedule of rates
  • Coordinate with designers and suppliers in the development of design solutions
  • Oversee the entire project (within disciplines) from an engineering viewpoint while maintaining an open approach to all problems
About the Project

The Selfs Point Sewer Transition Project is one of Tas Water's most significant projects to date, combining four separate but interconnected projects: the Selfs Point Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade, the near New Town Bay Macquarie Point to Selfs Point pipeline, the New Macquarie Point Sewage Pump Station, and the decommissioning of the existing Macquarie Point Sewage Treatment Plant.

This project will deliver improved environmental outcomes and state-of-the-art facilities and treatment technologies, enabling the treatment of up to 24.9 megalitres of Hobart's wastewater per day.
