Job Overview

This role involves performing a range of civil maintenance and asphalt labouring duties, working collaboratively with a supervisor and team members to deliver projects across the area.

The ideal candidate will be energetic, reliable, and motivated, with appropriate literacy and numeracy skills to comprehend worksite documentation. They will also possess sound civil labouring skills using manual handling techniques and hold Workcover General Construction Induction accreditation or have the ability to obtain it prior to commencement.

As a permanent employee, you will work full-time hours, 38 per week, plus have access to flexible working arrangements such as a 4-day week. You will be based at one of our depots in Raymond Terrace or Nelson Bay.

Responsibilities
  • Complete tasks associated with civil maintenance and construction projects, applying manual handling skills and adhering to worksite safety protocols.
  • Participate in regular toolbox discussions to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Develop and apply asphalt labouring skills, including operating small plant items such as whipper snippers, whacker packers, and mowers.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Aptitude for understanding worksite documentation and communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • Proven experience in civil labouring, using manual handling techniques and adhering to industry standards.
  • Workcover General Construction Induction certification or ability to attain prior to commencement.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new situations, with a focus on continuous improvement.
