Electoral Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electoral Operations Manager to oversee the delivery of electoral services in a federal division. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of staff to deliver election planning, delivery, and evaluation activities. They will also be responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of the electoral roll for approximately 100,000 electors within their division. Additionally, they will contribute to the development of team objectives for short-term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of staff to deliver election planning, delivery, and evaluation activities
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the electoral roll for approximately 100,000 electors within their division
  • Contribute to the development of team objectives for short-term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives
  • Supervise temporary election staff and ensure seamless and efficient workforce requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including State Office, National Office, and other States and Territories

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electoral operations or a related field
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities

Working Conditions:

This is a permanent full-time position working on an election cycle basis. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during peak periods. They will also be required to travel regularly to attend meetings and training sessions.
