Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Tutor for Victorian Select Entry Students.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of aspiring students seeking entry into Victoria's most prestigious schools.

As a Tutor, you will have the chance to mentor and guide students alongside experienced primary tutors, providing them with personalized attention and confidence they need to excel.

You will support engaging 2-hour Select Entry classes for small groups of 6-12 students across Years 6-8, covering subjects such as Mathematics (Reasoning / Quantitative subtests).

Additionally, you will mark student submissions, provide prompt targeted feedback, conduct 1-on-1 tutoring sessions, respond to student queries via messaging platform, and participate in initial training and occasional team meetings.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • In-class support and student assistance
  • 1-on-1 video consultations
  • Text-based question support and mentoring
  • Provide feedback about resources and the program as required

The ideal candidate will have attended a Victorian selective school, possess academic excellence (92+ ATAR), experience with competitive examinations, teaching experience, and demonstrated passion for education and student development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong academic background, preferably with a high ATAR score
  • Experience working with students, either as a teacher or tutor
  • Knowledge of competitive examination strategies and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
