The Department for Education is committed to providing a world-leading public education system that prioritizes learning and wellbeing. As part of this vision, we are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a School Bus Examiner / Technical Support Advisor.

About the Role

This position is responsible for delivering an effective school bus inspection service across South Australia, ensuring compliance with State and Federal legislative requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide high-level technical advice on safety and service issues, and manage and resolve these issues through liaison with service providers, schools, departmental officers, and other government departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in school bus inspections and maintenance;
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislative requirements;
  • Manage and resolve safety and service issues through effective communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve common goals.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Essential qualifications include a qualified motor mechanic or equivalent trade qualifications.
