The Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing safe transport for students to and from school and to offsite activities as required. They will maintain passenger safety at all times, adhering to traffic laws and relevant college policies.

Maintenance of a clean and mechanically sound bus is essential, with regular reporting of any issues or faults in accordance with the college's procedures. Engaging with students boarding and alighting the bus, providing additional mobility assistance as required, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and operational efficiency, and assisting in planning and adjusting bus routes as needed are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

We seek a committed Christian with a strong passion for biblically-based Christian education. Essential qualifications include an MR/HR License, Large Passenger Vehicle Accreditation, current First Aid Certificate, valid Working with Children Check (WWCC), and RRHAN-EC Certificate. A demonstrated ability and experience driving large buses on busy metropolitan roads, experience in cleaning and carrying out basic maintenance checks on buses, good working knowledge of road rules and practices relevant to the safe operation of buses, reliable attendance, and consistent provision of reliable bus services are highly valued.

Able to exercise independence in carrying out the requirements of the position with minimal supervision, effective interpersonal and communication skills that enable a positive working relationship with staff and students, and legal eligibility to work in Australia, along with appropriate medical clearance to drive a school bus, are also required.
