We are seeking experienced Service Utilities Locators to join a major telecommunications infrastructure project in Melbourne and country Victorian areas.

The role involves driving around to NBN worksites and interpreting DBYD service plans to identify utilities in the ground using various technologies including Radio detection service locators and GPR units.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring safe setup of job sites in accordance with supervisors' requirements
  • Interpreting DBYD plans and locating underground assets before works commence
  • Completing Pre-Start forms
  • Maintaining site vehicles and plant to ensure they are kept clean and in safe working order
  • Reporting day-to-day productivity and issues through to engineers and supervisors
  • Implementing environmental controls in accordance with site Environmental Management Plans
  • Operating Service locating equipment

The required skills and experience include:

  • Holding a full car license
  • Experience operating Radio detection service locators and GPR units
  • Current certification in identifying, locating, and protecting underground services (RIICCM202D)
  • A good understanding of service plans (DBYD)
  • Experience in Mud Maps, both reading and writing

As part of the hiring process, applicants will need to undergo a medical assessment, drug testing at interview, and undertake a National Police Check.
