About the Role

The Workplace Injury Management Specialist reports to the National WHS Manager and is part of the group People Safety Culture (PSC) team. The key focus of this role is to oversee the effective management of workplace injuries, ensuring timely rehabilitation, return-to-work (RTW) outcomes, and compliance with workers' compensation legislation.

This position will support employee rehabilitation and early return-to-work outcomes across various roles, collaborating with health, wellbeing, and safety teams to reduce injuries and time off work. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including rehab providers, physiotherapists, and treating health professionals, is essential.

  • Monitor injured workers' recovery and support their return to suitable duties
  • Ensure employees and leaders receive up-to-date injury management information, data, insights, and benchmarks
  • Continually look for ways to enhance systems and processes and elevate the skills of other team members
  • Lodge claims with insurers ensuring initial notifications are lodged within reporting timeframes
  • Keep up to date with legislative developments related to workers' compensation and injury management nationally
About You

  • Strong focus on achieving team and organisational goals
  • Solid experience working in return to work and injury management
  • Completion of Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management and each state RTW Coordination qualifications or willing to obtain
  • Knowledge and experience in Lost Prevention Recovery (LPR) and Conventional workers' compensation models
