Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Data Systems Manager to join our team.

This position supports the management and coordination of business system maintenance and improvements associated with the Reef Management platform and associated interfaces.

The position is responsible for the quality assurance of data, data analysis and reporting, internal and external user support, trouble shooting and delivery of system enhancements.

This role also involves supervision, coaching and performance management of staff, as well as undertaking processes required for collection and reconciliation of revenue associated with environmental management charge and exercising a range of delegations relating to permissions and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate business system maintenance and improvements
  • Ensure data quality, integrity and accuracy
  • Deliver system enhancements and troubleshoot issues
  • Supervise and coach staff to achieve high-quality outcomes
  • Contribute to the long-term protection and sustainable use of the Great Barrier Reef
Requirements
  • Natural problem-solving mindset and commitment to seeing things through
  • Strong written and verbal communication across all stakeholder levels
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data visualisation, and database interrogation
  • Experience in supervising staff and driving continuous improvement
