Job Title:

You will serve as a Database Solutions Architect, responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge database technology.

Our Team:

You will have the opportunity to work on WiredTiger, a leading open-source storage engine employing modern hardware architectures and software algorithms to achieve extraordinary performance for intricate applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design high-performance database solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers to coordinate seamless changes in a feature-rich, large codebase
  • Estimate task complexity and report progress and risks to peers and managers
  • Drive team projects, fix code defects, and adapt to team norms and company values

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of software development experience with 3+ years of C or C++ programming
  • 3+ years of experience spearheading projects, writing technical designs and documentation, refining work for other engineers, and planning milestones
  • Experience with mentoring engineers and professional/academic expertise in systems, distributed systems, or databases

Success Measures:

  • Understand the high-level architecture of WiredTiger within one month
  • Actively participate in reviewing code changes from peers and diagnose and fix customer-reported issues within three months
  • Contribute to the development of a project slated for the next release and participate in design review for new features within six months
  • Influence the development of a new feature and help mentor new engineers within twelve months
