About the Role

Curtin University is seeking an experienced Social Scientist to join our team at the Curtin Institute for Energy Transition (CIET). As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for managing and undertaking research projects to investigate social issues and inform policy and industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, manage, and undertake research projects to investigate social issues and inform policy and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement research strategies to address energy transition challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement research projects.
  • Contribute to the development of grant proposals and engage with stakeholders to secure funding.
  • Supervise research staff and students, and contribute to the development of research staff.
  • Contribute to cutting-edge research and publications in high-quality journals.
Requirements
  • Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent track record of outstanding research).
  • Experience in applying mixed-method research techniques to gather relevant information.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical packages and techniques.
  • Ability to provide input into the preparation of tenders for new research projects.
  • Emerging record of success in winning external research grants.
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals.
  • Ability to prepare, present, and disseminate research results to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead research projects.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a collegial and supportive working environment.
