Nuclear Submarine Officer Role

As a Nuclear Submarine Officer with the ADF Careers, you will play a critical role in the operation of our conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines. Your responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day operations, managing onboard systems, and ensuring the safe and effective deployment of the submarine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Nuclear reactor and nuclear propulsion system operations
  • Onboard weapons systems management
  • Atmosphere control and fire control systems
  • Driving the vessel and charting its position
  • Communications and intelligence equipment operation
Training and Development:

You will undergo extensive training to equip you with the technical expertise needed to excel in this role. This will include training in nuclear propulsion, the platform, and its equipment, as well as submarine qualification and command and control systems.

Requirements:
  • Be over 17 at time of enlistment
  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Have completed Year 12
