Neonatal and Paediatric Care Specialist

We are seeking experienced medical professionals to join our team as Retrieval Fellows or Registrars in the neonatal and paediatric care program.

Job Description:

As a Neonatal and Paediatric Care Specialist, you will provide high-quality emergency medical care and transport critically ill or injured children and neonates across South Australia.

You will work with an experienced Neonatal and Paediatric Retrieval Nurse to deliver patient-focused care via road vehicle, fixed wing aircraft, or helicopter.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing immediate care to patients in inter-facility transport and retrieval environments
  • Working independently and autonomously in the initial management of acutely ill and injured children and neonates
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to address urgent and emergency health responses

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor of Medicine: Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner and satisfy mandatory registration requirements in accordance with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  • At least six months of Neonatal/Paediatric critical care experience in a Level 6 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or Tertiary level Paediatric Intensive Care Unit
