**Student Support Specialist Role Summary**

The role of a Student Support Specialist is to provide high-quality support to students who face barriers in their education. This position involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to build the capabilities of schools and promote student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Provide social work supports to school-aged students to address various challenges they may be facing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to identify and address barriers to learning.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized plans to support students' educational and developmental goals.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Graduate or post-graduate degree in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for membership of AASW.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and full Driver's License.
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to rapid requests.
