About Our Client

Our client is a pioneering technology and engineering company that specializes in developing innovative, environmentally friendly solutions for the mining and minerals processing industry. With a strong focus on sustainability and efficiency, they have established themselves as a leader in the field, particularly in gold processing.

Job Description
  • Conduct thorough mechanical engineering investigations on existing and future plants and equipment to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.
  • Develop and review mechanical engineering calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the drafting team to create and review civil, mechanical, and structural layouts, arrangement, and detail drawings.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers for mechanical and process equipment, as well as civil, structural, and mechanical construction scopes of work, based on technical information, cost standards, and quality assurance.
  • Prepare cost estimates and bills of materials for project budgets and scope definition.
  • Ensure justifications for contractual claims resolution and variations during project implementation.
  • Recommend remedial actions to mitigate schedule delays, scope creeps, and budget overruns.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and government legislation and objectives and priorities for tasks undertaken.
  • Develop and provide engineering proposals and solutions.
  • Establish and maintain a standard calculation template for mechanical design, referencing applicable standards and codes, especially Australian standards.
The Successful Applicant
  • RPEQ preferred (or Chartered and eligible for RPEQ)
  • 12 years of experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, with Mineral Processing Industry experience, preferably gold
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of accepted Mechanical engineering practices, design codes, and regulations
  • Prior international work well regarded, but not essential
