Project Officer Role Summary:

The Project Officer will be responsible for delivering a locally relevant agri-environment programme in Lismore. The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing habitats, producing farm plans, and monitoring key species and chemical physical parameters.

">Key Responsibilities:">
  • Assess habitats and participate in quality control of habitat assessments submitted by farm advisors
  • Produce farm plans that meet the requirements of the project
  • Monitor key species/habitats and chemical physical parameters as required
  • Assess risks to biodiversity, archaeological heritage, and water quality
  • Assess fire, flooding, and nest predation risks at a local level
  • Design landscape actions to mitigate these risks
  • Participate in commonage assessments throughout the country
  • Assist with drone surveys to gather data on habitat health
  • Develop engagement strategies with local communities, NGOs, and stakeholders
  • Support staff, DAFM, NPWS, and other stakeholders as directed
  • Screen non-productive investments and landscape actions
  • Deliver training to farmers, advisors, and stakeholders on best practices
