Emergency Vet Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Vet Nurse to join our team at Animal Referral Hospital. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals, working closely with our experienced veterinarians to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing diagnostic tests.
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital standards.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition and treatment plan, and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in an emergency or critical care setting
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medical procedures
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and empathetic towards both animals and their owners
