WHS and Facilities Manager Role

We are seeking a motivated professional to fill the role of WHS and Facilities Manager, responsible for ensuring optimum operational performance and improved efficiency across our warehouse operations.

This position offers a unique opportunity to develop and implement WHS plans and risk assessments that cover all aspects of warehouse operations, with the goal of improving safety and reducing risks.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and implementing initiatives to optimize operational performance and improve efficiency;
  • Developing and implementing WHS management processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations;
  • Managing operations activities in preparation for audits and supporting internal audit plan implementation;
  • Developing and maintaining control systems to measure and improve WHS performance over time;
  • Ensuring WHS management processes are implemented consistently across all sites;
  • Demonstrating leadership through effective consultation and communication to achieve WHS objectives and targets;
  • Providing governance to achieve objectives for monitoring and reporting processes;
  • Timely reporting of injuries, incidents, near misses, and hazards, ensuring appropriate investigations and conclusions are conducted;
  • Managing staff performance, including annual reviews;
  • Quality issue escalation;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry standards and Quality Management documents.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in WHS, operations, business management, engineering, or supply chain related fields, with experience managing a 3PL relationship. A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a similar WHS role is required.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to complete work within established time frames and specifications;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical, operational, and quality problems;
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to achieve favorable outcomes;
  • Knowledge of materials handling solutions and the supply chain process;
  • Commitment to safety and ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
