Indigenous Cultural Ambassador & Partnerships Leader

Location: Tamworth Region

Overview

The region aims to grow its population through strategic partnerships and initiatives that support local Indigenous communities. This role will collaborate with community leaders, develop impactful policies, and deliver projects that address Closing the Gap targets.

The Opportunity

  • Develop relationships with Indigenous organizations and communities
  • Lead initiatives to embed Indigenous culture in the organization
  • Deliver projects and reports on employment, procurement, and cultural inclusion

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Indigenous community leaders to develop strategic partnerships
  • Develop policy and strategy to promote Indigenous cultural awareness
  • Oversee projects and initiatives addressing Closing the Gap targets
  • Provide accurate reporting on Closing the Gap metrics

Requirements

  • Applicants must identify as Indigenous by descent and be accepted in the community
  • Degree in Social Policy, Community Development, or relevant equivalent experience
  • Driver's Licence
  • Working With Children's Check (WWCC)

Other Requirements

  • Confirmation of Indigenous descent with application

Benefits

Salary range: Grade 19 – $112,011.74 - $121,200.39 per annum plus superannuation for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills and experience.
