Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Collections Specialist to join our team. As a Financial Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting payments of rentals and miscellaneous invoices for our fleet lease product in accordance with approved trading terms.
Key Responsibilities- Timely review of accounts on the debtor's system to ensure prompt identification of accounts beyond acceptable payment terms and professional contact with clients who are in arrears.
- Prepare statements of outstanding invoices and reconciliations for clients as required, follow up collections.
- Ensure arrears position aligns with all information on internal SG Fleet systems and Financier Systems.
- Action incoming correspondence via email, phone, and mail in a timely manner.
- Creating detailed and accurate file action notes for all customer interactions within systems provided.
- Work effectively with the team to ensure department requirements are met, including support of the vision and goals of the company and complying with policies, systems, and processes approved from time to time.
- Establish strong professional relationships with our client base and internally with various departments that we interact with and the Client Relationship team to ensure clear communication lines, client expectations are managed, and discrepancies are managed in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
- Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field.
- Previous experience in a collection/receivable role for a medium-sized operation.
- Financial Acumen.
- Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results.
- Proficiency with database software and MS Office Suite of applications.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of payment plans and accounting procedures.
You will possess a customer service orientation, a proactive and enthusiastic approach, adept problem-solving and objection-handling skills, patience, resilience, and the ability to build and establish relationships with customers based on rapport and trust.
