About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Scrub Scout Perioperative Unit as a key member of our multidisciplinary team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our team to ensure optimal patient outcomes, and contributing to the development of our perioperative services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Safe and Effective Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the perioperative process.
  • Collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with our team of healthcare professionals, including surgeons, anaesthetists, and other nurses, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Supervise and Guide Nursing Team Members: Supervise and direct Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver high-quality patient care, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Deliver Education and Support: Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life care.
About You
  • Specialized Scrub/Scout and Anaesthetics/Pacu Experience: We are looking for candidates with specialized experience in scrub/scout and anaesthetics/pacu, with a strong understanding of perioperative nursing practices.
  • Working with Children Check: You will need to hold a current Working with Children check to work with our pediatric patients.
  • Education and Qualifications: A Bachelor of Nursing degree and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) are essential.
  • Post-Graduate Certificate or Working Towards: A post-graduate certificate in perioperative nursing or working towards one is highly desirable.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National Standards: You will need to comply with the Australian Commission on Quality and Safety in Health Care (ACQSHC) national standards for perioperative nursing.
  • Good Clinical Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Skills: You will need to possess good clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills are essential to work effectively with our patients, families, and multidisciplinary team.
  • Proactive, Motivated, and Customer-Focused: You will need to be proactive, motivated, and customer-focused to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our perioperative services.
  • Proficient Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills are required to use our electronic medical records system and other software applications.
