About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Speech Pathologist to join our team within Child Development Services at Kirwan Health Campus. As a key member of our transdisciplinary therapy team, you will provide high-level Speech Pathology expertise for screening and assessment of children referred to the Community Paediatric service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level Speech Pathology assessment, analysis, and intervention for children with complex development delays.
  • Work effectively as a discipline leader within a transdisciplinary therapy team, providing non-routine advice to operational and professional supervisors, peers, and subordinate staff.
  • Develop and implement innovative and flexible services that meet the needs of the community, incorporating a family-centred approach into service delivery.
  • Contribute to service planning and development, initiating and evaluating local service improvement initiatives.
  • Provide clinical supervision to subordinate personnel.

Requirements
  • Tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Blue Card Checks required, with potential applicants advised to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment.
  • Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • Probation period may apply, with pre-employment checks conducted.
