Role Overview

The Cybersecurity Governance Manager is tasked with ensuring that Baptcare's cybersecurity controls, frameworks, policies, processes, and standards are up-to-date, compliant with legislation, and aligned with industry best practices. This pivotal role supports Baptcare in achieving its strategic and operational objectives by assessing the impact of various cyber risks on operations, prioritizing security efforts, and minimizing potential disruptions, data breaches, noncompliance, financial penalties, or reputational damage. The Cyber Governance Manager collaborates closely with the Head of Cyber and Infrastructure, as well as IT leadership and business stakeholders, to enhance and maintain Baptcare's cybersecurity measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the cybersecurity program and prioritize initiatives based on the evolving threat landscape.
  • Continuously monitor and report on operational vulnerabilities within the Baptcare environment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the intersection of cybersecurity and business operations, aiding in the development of relevant policies, standards, and frameworks.
  • Implement and uphold governance, risk, and compliance-related security measures to safeguard the IT environment and sensitive data.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and data protection legislation.
  • Lead Cyber Awareness Training initiatives and provide strategic advice to enhance cybersecurity awareness.
  • Report any policy breaches to the Head of Cyber and Infrastructure, escalating significant incidents to the CIO.
  • Identify and communicate technology and security risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the effectiveness and regular testing of IT disaster recovery and Cyber Security Incident Response Plans.
  • Manage annual security penetration testing efforts.
  • Ensure incident response and communication plans align with business needs and compliance requirements.
  • Review technology incidents, ensuring corrective actions are taken and lessons learned are documented.
  • Ensure alignment of projects and application developments with Baptcare's information security standards.
  • Promote a security-conscious culture throughout the organization, clarifying roles and responsibilities related to information security.
  • Recommend content for the annual information security training and awareness program.

Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing effective controls.
  • Experience in developing, communicating, and testing Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Successful management of cybersecurity programs with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cybersecurity governance, including experience in drafting and updating standards, policies, and frameworks, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and lead teams to achieve performance objectives.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity industry frameworks (NIST, ISO27001, ASD Essential Eight, etc.) and compliance requirements.
  • Alignment with Baptcare's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure architecture, cloud adoption (IaaS and SaaS), cybersecurity, and project management methodologies.
  • Industry certifications such as CRISC or CISM.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in aged care, community services, or not-for-profit organizations.
  • ITIL certification (Intermediate or Expert).
  • Certification in one or more project management methodologies.
