Strategic Leadership Position

The purpose of this role is to provide executive leadership and management of a research office to achieve strategic objectives. This includes developing and implementing initiatives to effectively solicit, coordinate and administer externally and internally funded research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of research strategies to achieve organisational goals
  • Formulate and provide policy advice to support research initiatives
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure effective use of resources
  • Lead and manage a team to achieve research objectives
  • Identify and source research funding opportunities

Requirements:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Substantial and extensive management experience in the higher education sector or related field
  • Substantial relevant experience in an environment involving multi-sector research collaborations especially at a State or Commonwealth level
  • Extensive experience in identifying and sourcing research funding
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • High level written and verbal communication skills including negotiation at a strategic level
