Director of Policy Development

As a senior policy professional, you will lead and support our Technical and Regulation policy team in the development and implementation of building and plumbing regulations.
This role involves overseeing research, development, and implementation of regulatory policies, as well as providing expert advice to stakeholders.
You will work closely with the Office of the State Building Surveyor to stay abreast of legislative, social, regulatory, and technical changes.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a regulatory setting and hold tertiary qualifications in policy, law, management, leadership, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating projects, including associated budgets and resource allocation.
- Strong stakeholder relationship skills, with the ability to negotiate strategic outcomes.
- Extensive written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports on complex issues.
