Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and empathetic Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to our clients, enabling them to live their lives to the fullest. Your duties will include:
- Assisting with daily living activities, such as personal care and grooming
- Accompanying clients to community facilities and events
- Providing transportation to appointments and activities
- Administering medication and assisting with household chores
- Engaging in educational and social activities with clients
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- Empathy, honesty, flexibility, and a warm and encouraging demeanor
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- Patient, flexible, and understanding nature
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with clients and their families
- Commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives
- Capacity to remain calm and rational in heightened and stressful situations
Qualifications and Certifications
We require:
- NDIS Screening Card
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Blue Card
- A valid Queensland Driver License (minimum P2 Green)
- Evidence of your Right to Work in Australia
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance for transporting clients
