Culinary Lead

Lead kitchen operations to deliver high-quality meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.

This hands-on role includes full responsibility for menu creation, stock ordering, and overall kitchen management while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Menu Creation: Plan seasonal menus that align with residents' preferences and nutritional needs.
  • Kitchen Operations: Manage daily kitchen operations to ensure timely and high-quality meal preparation and service.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Oversee food safety and hygiene practices in line with HACCP and regulatory requirements.
  • Stock Management: Order and manage stock to minimize waste and stay within budget.
  • Kitchen Staff Supervision: Coordinate and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Special Diets: Manage and prepare special diets, including texture-modified and allergen-specific meals.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery:
  • Current and Acceptable Police Certificate:
  • Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with the team and engage positively with residents.
  • Compassion and Empathy:
  • Valid Working Rights: Unlimited valid working rights in Australia - mandatory.
  • Hospitality Experience: In an aged care setting or fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aged Care Knowledge: Understanding of resident rights and Aged Care Accreditation Standards.
