Job Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to support the integration of vaping prevention into our Good Sports program in Brisbane. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community development and health promotion.

In this role, you will engage with community sporting clubs across QLD about how they can prevent the uptake of vaping in young players and support those who vape to access help to quit.

You will deliver workshops with club committees, train coaches on how to have conversations with young players, and conduct information sessions for young players and their parents on the risks and how to access support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver presentations to various audiences on vaping prevention and harm minimisation.
  • Hold important conversations with community sporting club committees and volunteers.
  • Facilitate health promotion programs, including vaping and alcohol or drug-related initiatives.
  • Travel within QLD to deliver after-hours workshops to community sporting clubs as needed.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as sport, health promotion, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in community development roles and awareness of alcohol and other drug issues.
  • Understanding of community development principles and ability to self-motivate, plan effectively, and meet Key Performance Indicators.
  • Current driver's license and valid Working with Children check required.
